About us

We build pathways between skills, opportunity and sustainable livelihood

Skilletz Foundation is a Section 8 not-for-profit dedicated to building an inclusive, skilled and self-reliant society. We empower women, youth, students, self-help groups, rural communities and persons with disabilities through skill development, entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy, digital inclusion and sustainable livelihoods.

Why we exist

The gap we work in

Who we work with

  • Women
  • Youth and students
  • Self-help groups
  • Rural communities
  • Persons with disabilities
  • First-time entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship is not just about creating businesses. It is about creating confidence, independence, leadership and stronger communities.

India does not have a shortage of capable women. It has a shortage of routes from capability to income — training that connects to a market, schemes that people know how to apply for, and networks that a first-time entrepreneur can actually reach.

Skilletz Foundation exists to be that route. We build the partnerships — with banks, government departments, universities and industry associations — so that a woman starting out does not have to assemble them herself.

We go beyond training — nurturing entrepreneurs, mentoring leaders, facilitating market linkages, connecting people with government schemes and building the collaborative ecosystems that make growth last.

Our vision

To build an inclusive and empowered society where every woman, youth and differently-abled individual has equal access to opportunities, enabling them to achieve financial independence, sustainable livelihoods and a life of dignity.

Our purpose

Empowering people with skills, opportunities and confidence to create sustainable livelihoods and transform communities.

Our mission

What we are committed to

Six promises, from the foundation's own mission statement.

Empowering women entrepreneurs, self-help groups, youth and persons with disabilities through capacity building and mentoring.

Creating sustainable livelihood opportunities by connecting people with markets, technology, finance and industry.

Promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership to build self-reliant communities.

Partnering with corporates, government agencies, educational institutions and civil society to maximise social impact.

Driving inclusive growth through programmes that foster economic, social and personal empowerment.

Building a future where every individual has the confidence, skills and opportunities to turn aspirations into lasting success.

Our values

The six words we hold ourselves to

Innovation

New routes from a skill to an income, not new certificates.

Inclusion

Women, youth, rural communities and persons with disabilities — by design, not by exception.

Integrity

Every figure we publish can be traced back to a programme.

Collaboration

Banks, government departments, universities and industry, in the same room.

Sustainability

Livelihoods that outlast the programme that started them.

Impact

Measured in incomes and enterprises, not in attendance.

How we work

Skill development is only the beginning. Sustainable livelihoods emerge when skills are connected to entrepreneurship, employment and market opportunities — and that is our USP.

  1. Step 1

    Skill the person

Hands-on learning workshops in bakery, tailoring, beauty, textiles, food and jewellery, designed to create income opportunities and does not stop by merely getting certificates.

  2. Step 2

    Build the enterprise

We help entrepreneurs with costing, pricing, GeM registration and awareness of government schemes.

  3. Step 3

    Open the market

We connect entrepreneurs through different platforms to showcase, grow and sell their products.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the blockers

We address the barriers beyond skill development, providing legal guidance, scheme awareness and advocacy to help women build, protect and sustain their business.

Where we stand today

What the work adds up to

The collective impact of our work so far.

Across our programmes we have worked with banks, government departments, universities and industry associations — including COSMOS Bank, the Department of MSME, KVIC, the Government e-Marketplace and Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth.
