BizQueen™

Flagship projectClose to 300 women, across four seasons
All projects

A pan-India platform that puts a woman's business brand on stage — and coaches her until she can own it.

BizQueen starts from the belief that sustainable entrepreneurship is what empowerment actually looks like: self-belief, confidence and economic independence, built by closing the gap between ambition and opportunity. It is aimed squarely at women who have kept their businesses inside their homes, and it exists to carry them from homepreneur to entrepreneur.

The platform was conceptualised by India's first-ever winner of the Mrs. Universe Confident title, together with her co-directors, on the principle that the stage builds confidence. Having lived that, they designed BizQueen to teach it — through a deliberately fun-and-learn approach rather than a lecture.

It flips the script on traditional pageantry by making the participant's business brand the highlight of the stage rather than the participant's appearance. Before anyone steps on it, they are coached in confidence, public speaking, elevator pitches and image transformation, so they arrive as the ambassador of their own brand. Those are executive-presence skills, and they keep working long after the contest ends. BizQueen is a registered and trademarked event, owned solely by Skilletz Foundation.

The objective beyond the individual is a network: an ecosystem that keeps producing opportunities for women after the season closes, run on the principle of collaboration over competition rather than a single winner and a room full of runners-up.

Four seasons have each had their own theme. Season 1 promoted sustainable Indian fabrics — khadi, cotton, kalamkari, ikat — designed into office wear by a woman entrepreneur. Season 2, for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, ran three days and coached 75 shortlisted entrepreneurs, featuring four women designers working in khun, paithani, irkal and khadi. Seasons 3 and 4 introduced Brand Ukhana, which invites women to re-work the traditional Maharashtrian ukhana by replacing their husband's name with their own brand's.

Close to 300 women have taken part. They have pitched their brands from the stage, widened their networks, and — in the founders' words — gone from hesitating to say their own names to owning the spotlight. Their brand stories reach thousands of households through Enspiration, an annual edition collecting them.

One of many: Urmila had the skills and the product before BizQueen but not the confidence to talk about either in public. The coaching sharpened her elevator pitch and changed how she saw herself. Standing on stage in Season 4 to recite her Brand Ukhana was the moment it turned — her network grew, her sales rose, and she found her voice.
